Beginner Photography Workshop

We started at our studio on this workshop, with Brittany Horne and Capas Jones helping me on this workshop.  Most of our Beginner Photography Workshops in Atlanta has two to three instructors which means you will have plenty of attention. We did spend the first hour in a class room environment at our Roswell GA studio teaching shooting in manual mode, exposure setting, camera metering and lighting.  The second part of the workshop was all hands on shooting around our five acre studio. We want to teach confidence to our students so they could handle any shoots under any type of lighting situations.

Look at the beauty of window light photography, look how the light wraps her face which creates shape.  So many photographers will get good exposures but the lighting is flat.  Here we are creating
We will teach you how to get shallow depth of field with the choice of the right lens and the camera settings.  Look how the background blurs away.

Introduction Photography Workshop / Beginner Photography Workshop

We had some great models at our Beginner Photography Workshop that we hosted at our studio.  Getting everybody to understand their camera setting, to shoot in complete manual mode, and understand lighting was the priority of this workshop.  The first half of this workshop was a classroom environment but the second half was all hands on shooting with real models.  We covered exposure, depth of field, using shutter speed, aperture and ISO.  Then everybody really learned by shooting.

Lighting Photography Workshop Atlanta | Creative Edge

This is an advanced workshop ……what does that mean “advanced”……?? It really means that YOU are comfortable with YOUR camera, not that you have to be a pro–just know how to perform basic functions with your equipment and are ready to go the next level.  That gives us the base to build on….we start off the workshop going over studio lighting and transition into available light– in a wide variety of conditions. We demonstrate how to shoot with off camera lighting, studio lighting outdoors and video lighting– creating very dramatic shots.  We teach YOU how to see light and how to make light…..every workshop includes the hands on experience that you CRAVE!!  We show you how to turn the images in your mind into REALITY–with the camera in your hand!! Review the images that follow and you will get a taste of the quality that this workshop is capable of producing!!

Just using the natural light from the window and a reflector to bounce light into the shadow side of his face.
Same window light as the shot above but brought in a cool door as a background and it is a very different shot.  If you have a window with great light then make that your studio and with fabric, doors, rugs, shutters or anything you love for a background just use them and every shot will look like it was shot somewhere different.
