Introduction to Photography Workshop Atlanta | Creative Edge

This workshop was again the TRIFECTA of photography: 1) Great weather, 2) Great models and 3) Awesome students.  The introduction to photography workshop is perfect for anybody that is not completely comfortable shooting in manual mode with their camera. After spending the first hour going over all camera settings to answer all questions, we got ready for our photo shoot. Alyssa was our model and she did a great job. We started our shoot inside the studio with window light and then went outside to photograph her in a variety of lighting conditions. Brittany helped me with the workshop and we had one other professional photographer on hand, so there was plenty of help for anybody that had questions.

I love Sun Flare!! By putting the sun behind the subject and tipping your lens toward the sun and using a wide aperture you can create beautiful sun flare.  Practice to get the amount you want, but be careful not to get to much flare,  just enough to create the look you want.

Back-lighting is always a great way to get amazing images. Put the sun behind your subject and use a reflector to add light to her face.  Also, notice the shallow depth of field which is caused by a wide open aperture and a long lens.

Do not be afraid of putting your subject in direct sunlight.  See how it makes this shot very dramatic!?!

This shot was taken in the studio with only the light coming in from a window.  We created the background with two old doors that had been painted..
