We had a lot of request for a studio workshop and even though I love to shoot outdoors and on location, we have a studio and I am very experienced with studio lighting.  As with all of our workshops we do  want to have great models for our students to photograph and this workshop was no exception – we had Shelby and Grayson.  Shelby just got back from N.Y. working on a  MTV video, she is an incredible singer and will become a huge star in the very near future.  Grayson is a new model from Alabama and she is WONDERFUL!! Sowe were excited that she came down for your out workshop.  So we spend the day photographing two beautiful women with  with simple soft box lighting, multiple lighting set ups, video lighting and off camera lighting outdoors.

Shot with a large soft box– but look at the image on the right and see how the hair light adds so much to the image. We are using a studio softbox outdoor to create these images that were shot under the roof of our barn. We also showed how to use gels to add color to the background.  The old days of having a huge range of colored backgrounds are not needed anymore if you want just a solid color.  If you have a white, gray and black background you can change them to any color or look you want with lighting and gels.
